The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) has expanded service for the Clearwater Ferry. The agency says the expanded service will connect downtown Clearwater, Clearwater Beach and soon Dunedin, Fla., creating seamless access to some of the region’s most popular destinations. “PSTA is ushering in a new era of transportation,” said PSTA CEO Brad Miller. “This ferry service enhances connectivity between key waterfront locations, offering an environmentally friendly and efficient alternative to gridlock traffic. By expanding hours and access, we’re creating opportunities for economic growth, tourism, and improving the overall quality of life for our residents.” According to PSTA, the expansion underscores the city of Clearwater’s commitment to recovery after Hurricane Milton, concentrating on rebuilding beach communities, linking key destinations and attracting visitors who bring enthusiasm and economic benefits. "Clearwater is full of gems, from the vibrant offerings at Coachman Park to the sapphire blue waters of Clearwater Beach,” said PSTA Board Chair Dan Saracki. “This ferry connects those gems, creating unforgettable experiences while driving economic vitality and with future expansion to Dunedin, the service spreads economic success across the county.” PSTA notes the enhanced Clearwater Ferry service is designed to benefit everyone, from commuters to tourists. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a key partner in the initiative, anticipates increased visitation due to the expanded ferry service. “We absolutely support the ferry’s mission, which enables residents and visitors to see the beauty of our waterways, as well as the incredible marine life that inhabits it,” said CEO of Clearwater Marine Aquarium Joe Handy. “We are delighted to be able to welcome visitors to CMA to then be able to experience and up-close look at marine animals.” The expansion introduces a new partnership between PSTA and the Clearwater Ferry, ensuring enhanced management and coordination. Service hours are also being extended to operate Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., making the ferry more accessible for commuters, residents and visitors.

Clearwater is a peaceful mountain village on the Western Isle of the Arishta Isles. It's characterized by tall cliffs and a variety of streams and waterfalls. It is the hometown of Rhen Pendragon, and appears in Rhen's Quest and the Darkthrop Prophecy 3-4.Rhen's Quest[]Location[]Clearwater is located in the Highlands near the north eastern edge of the Western Isle, with Sedona directly to the west on the opposite side of the landmass.Game Plot[]In Rhen's Quest, Clearwater is the town in which the story begins. Everyone in town is preparing for the spring equinox festival, and the area seems to be known for its apples and flowers. Unbeknownst to Rhen at the start of the game, she was brought to Clearwater as a baby and raised by Tailor Darzon, a former general of Thais. Tailor did this on the instruction of the king and queen, who knew that Ahriman would try to kill their daughter to escape the prophecy that foretold his eventual defeat.Rhen grew up unaware of anything until the day before the festival, when she was suddenly teleported to a frozen cliff where a mysterious priestess (Talia Maurva) has been attacked and needs her help. They are transported back to the meadow in Clearwater, and Rhen calls for Tailor. The priestess is brought to their home and healed by Dyonna, the herbalist, while preparations for the festival continue. Rhen tries to ask Tailor about who the priestess is as, but is rebuffed and only told that they knew each other long ago. The next day, Rhen speaks with the priestess and is called the chosen one, which she dismisses as nonsense. The priestess gives Rhen her ring for protection, and promises to explain more the next day. Outside, the equinox festival is going well and most of the citizens of Clearwater are in the square to celebrate. Rhen's friend Peter, however, is up to some mischief. Down by the entrance to Little Rock Caves, he invites Rhen to join him and another friend in chasing sheep. Rhen agrees, and Peter tells her to meet him outside the village. He disappears into the cave, and when Rhen goes to follow him she encounters a strange man. The man is a slave trader, come on Ahriman's orders to collect the priestess Talia. The Comprehensive Plan is lengthy (approximately 9 months) and requires City, County and State approval. The City Attorney has advised that the pending ordinance doctrine likely does not apply to comprehensive plan amendments, being that such amendments require approval of several independent government entities. Therefore, it is not likely that an amendment could be applied retroactively to a property if a substantial damage/substantial improvement determination has been made prior to the adoption of the ordinance. DEBRIS REMOVALCurrently, Pinellas County dump is not an approved site for FEMA commercial contractor debris disposal. Identify solutions within the city to assist business owners with debris removal.As of 10/29/24 we have received additional guidance regarding commercial debris removal, and we will have a new plan updated and implemented very soon.
