I've turned off the DSC options in HDMI 2.x support, and added DisplayID 1.3/2.0 Detailed Resolutions set at 240hz, but the the 360hz refresh rate is still available as an option so DSC is on. If it's an NVIDIA GPU, it's not possible to disable DSC with CRU because the driver ignores EDID overrides in this case. 12-17-2024, 10:12 PM RE: Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) I have the asus pg27aqdm and they have their actual monitor timings listed in the user manual online and by default nvidia doesnt use them.I have tried setting in on cru and that works ok, but also tried with nvidias custom resolutions.When I set it on nvidias, and then switch to gpu scaling and back to displayscaling, itll actually show a duplicate of my resolution in the custom window, but in the "PC" section instead of the custom section and will be listed as a 32 bit instead of 64 bit resolution. When I select this resolution instead everything looks and feels WAY better. Im not sure how to explain it, but almost like gsync works significantly better, motion looks better and input feels better.But every time I reset my pc, I have to redo the steps. Is there any way to use CRU to make that resolution permanently set as one of those 32 bit pc profiles?

I have tried all kinds of different settings for timing and for the actual refresh rate, and have attempted hard reboots as opposed to driver reboots -- to no avail. I do see that CRU is having *some* interaction with my display settings because I can use it to edit the monitor's color depth.Intel's driver often ignores EDID overrides for laptop screens.Thanks for the information. Then they added it to the 15.x drivers several years ago after many people requested it, and it did work for some laptop screens but not others. No matter what I do, from both hdmi ports all I can get is 4k 60hz 4:2:0 8 bits. Tested on LG OLED C1 and C3. Tested with a a Denon x4300 receiver. Tried deleting the 4:2:0 compatibility map but this results in only 4k 30hz available. The limited adrenaline drivers are a problem. Compared to Nvidia drivers, which I'm way more used to, those seem very poorly developed. The custom resolution on AMD drivers won't actually let you try any resolution it feels like your display might not support. So, is there any workaround this? I don't know why this is so restrictive. If I could get 4k 60hz RGB /YCbCr 4:4:4 I would be happy to keep it.No need to try 4k 120hz. And as a bonus I tried a USB-C -> HDMI adapter and got as far as 4k 100hz 4:2:2 but this adapter

I wouldn't expect VideoStandard to be accurate. Detailed resolutions don't have a way to specify what standard it is. The timing options in CRU are just calculators to help fill in the values. The driver probably reports all detailed resolutions as D3DKMDT_VSS_OTHER. I've got an Acer VG270U. With Windows 10 Pro 20H2 and my previous video card I couldn't get 2560x1440 which is native for this display, so I ordered a new Radeon HD5450 supposedly could do 2560x1440 and worked with Windows 10. I still can't get 2560x1440 with HDMI.This is explained in the first post under pixel clock limits. I am running a HDTV as monitor in my PC through VGA cable. This TV's specs show only HD ready but somehow it runs on full HD when I plug a firestick into the HDMI port. This made me curious to find a way to run it on full hd when connected to computer. Full HD wasn't listed as one of the resolutions in windows so I found CRU and added 1920x1080 resolution to the list in CRU and clicked ok. It went kind of downhill from there. All
